Event Date: - Event Time: 09:00 am - 03:00 pm
Country: Namibia
Event Topic: Workshop

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), in collaboration with the Division of Economic Analysis and Policy Division, the UN RC Namibia, UN ECA and UNFAO will organize a workshop in support of NPC – the CLEWS focal point within the Government of Namibia to invite Directors or delegates of the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform, the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Ministry of Forestry, Environment and Tourism in Namibia and the National Statistics Agency and members of the Technical Working Group to a workshop to agree on the final CLEWS outputs that were produced and further support embedding the CLEWs integrated assessment into the National Development Plan 6. The aim of the workshop is to sign off the roadmap for CLEWS that presents the pathway for applying and incorporating CLEWS into the NDP 6 planning process and to invite Directors of the relevant Ministries to incorporate the institutional arrangements in the day-to-day work of the team and individual technical analysts. The workshop also envisages to have signed off the MoU between UNAM and NPC and to further initiate the establishment of the CLEWS Lab - a resource center for training and research on CLEWS modelling and a repository of multisectoral data use for conducting robust analytical work to inform sectoral, intersectoral and national policies (NDPs), strategies and other plans.
