This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

Agriculture and Farm sector also impacted due to Covid 19 pandemic and farmers need timely support from Government by means of Mobile Technology to maintain farm and agro productions and supply chain.
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) has introduced its e-services for farmers via its electronic platform. Among these services is the “Agricultural Guide” (Murshiduka Al-Ziraa’i) that aims to support farmers in different regions of Saudi Arabia, by providing instant agricultural consultation services via a smartphone app to the farmers during Covid 19 pandemic crisis. This app comes amid the efforts of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture towards digital transformation and developing its e-services provided to beneficiaries, with the objective of raising work efficiency, effectiveness, timely response, facilitating requests for services and expediting procedures to the farmers in Saudi Arabia.
