This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

The Task Force for Research and Technological Innovation for Handling Covid-19 (TFRIC19) is working to use artificial intelligence (AI) in handling the Corona Virus (Covid-19). AI can be used to strengthen diagnostics by doctors in detecting the Corona Virus. This effort is carried out with the Machine Learning model and the latest Deep Learning techniques to build AI-based detection models. Later, the system will be assisted with AI techniques based on Knowledge Growing System as a Decision Support System (DSS). The artificial intelligence model was built based on X-Ray and CT-Scan data from positive and negative Corona Virus patients, which are then used to conduct early detection and diagnosis of patients.
