This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

Seven (07) billion CFA have been mobilized by the government for urgent actions such as construction of infrastructure necessary for the care and treatment of infected persons, acquisition of various equipment to reinforce the technical platform and medical consumables, provision of buildings to ensure the isolation of persons suspected of carrying the germs of COVID-19 for the duration of the observation period, etc.
A website has been deployed to serve as a central platform for official information about covid-19, it is accessible free of charge to all Beninese internet users thanks to the contribution of GSM partners (Moov Benin and Mtn Benin). There is also a toll-free number (#136) free calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all information regarding the coronaVirus: Screening, Support, Isolation, Reporting, Miscellaneous Questions.
An Android and IOS mobile application are being developed based on the content of the site to make information even more available to populations
