Initiatives to mitigate the financial and economic impact on the private sector – individuals support

This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

- Increasing support for families with low incomes by 4 billion riyals, through which 100,000 families will be funded during the year 2020.
- Allocating 2 billion riyals to support 100 thousand beneficiaries of job seekers in the private sector, as well as offering and activating remote work tools as available and alternative options for regular work
- Allocating 1.5 billion riyals to join 100,000 new job seekers in Job Seekers program.
- One billion riyals is allocated to support private sector employees who have been employed since July 2019, who have not been previously supported by employment support and empowerment programs provided by Human Resources Development Fund.
- 9 billion riyals as compensation for more than 1.2 million citizens working in the facilities affected by the repercussions of Corona through the (Saned) Program.
