This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

A royal decree been issued to create The National Supreme COVID 19 Committee headed by the Minister of Interior and membership of several core ministries to take all measures against COVID19. The committee consists of Ministers from all relevant sectors e.g. Ministry of Health, Royal Oman Police, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Transport etc. The Committee work very closely, with WHO office based in Oman. All decisions and measures using Digital trends are approved through this committee
