This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

What we grow, pack, eat and waste has significant effects on our health and on the planet's climate emergency. The Food Wave Project (2020-2023) aims to create awareness to produce and consume food in our cities in order to reduce these effects and achieve a fair, healthy and sustainable food system.
Food Wave aims to change the eating habits of young people between 15 and 35 years of age through information, training and promotion of their communicative activity through workshops and actions with the aim of disseminating what they have learned among their colleagues, friends, family, etc.
The Madrid City Council joined this program in January 2019 and due to its environmental characteristics, it fits into the line of action ' A healthier Madrid ' of Madrid 360, which seeks to incorporate responsible consumption measures, favoring people's healthy habits , among other objectives. It is also part of the Healthy and Sustainable Food Strategy of the Milan Pact signed by the Madrid City Council.
