Brief Description of the Program
The QC Center for Children with Disabilities (Kabahagi) is anchored on the vision of Quezon City in building a quality community for all, including the children with disability and their families It is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Children in the global context, and the local mandates as stipulated in the 1987 Philippine Constitution, Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, Local Government Code of 1991, the Children and Youth Welfare Code, the National Policy on Community-Based Rehabilitation, Special Children’s Ordinance of Quezon City, Quezon City’s Children Code of 2012 and the Ordinance Institutionalizing a Comprehensive Program for Children with Disabilities. Its five-phase implementation began in June 2017 as a project of Hon. Josefina “Joy” G. Belmonte and found its home in the 3-storey building, sponsored by Congressman Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte, Jr..
