"SANAD" Social Protection Program Portal

This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

At the time of Covid-19 ,all labor activities are closed and labor work has been stopped, and to protect their wages Government started this initiative to support private sector with a set of initiatives, procedures, exemptions, and postponement of government taxes payments. Activating the Social Insurance Institution to pay salaries to the private sector employees due to stopping work. At the time of Covid-19 on-time salary payment is very crucial and for benefits of private sector employees, Saudi Government initiative “SANAD” is a life line for private sector employees. To pay monthly compensation to Saudi workers through SANAD enhances the sustainability of the localization of the private sector. Applying and benefit form this program is online.
