This compendium, prepared by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), aims to capture emerging trends in digital responses of UN Member States against the COVID-19 pandemic along with other digital government initiatives and provide a preliminary analysis of their main features. These cases are shared for exchange of information so that Member States can learn from each other and possibly create new partnerships.

All information obtained from animals cared for in the Fauna Division as an image bank, statistical and spatial data are registered and filed in a computerized system called SISFAUNA, which enables the recording and retrieval of data and information regarding wild fauna occurring in the municipality of São Paulo.
In addition to archiving information, SISFAUNA is very useful in collecting statistical data, providing reliable information to the division's technicians. It is through SISFAUNA that reports are prepared informing the species and health conditions of the animals apprehended and deposited in the Wild Fauna Division.
The information gathered since the beginning of the Fauna Division's activities form an extensive technical database that enables the development of publications, courses, internships and dissemination campaigns.
