The Committee of Experts on Public Administration held its ninth session at the United Nations in New York from 19 to 23 April 2010. Its theme was “Challenges to and opportunities for public administration in the context of the financial and economic crisis”.

The Committee dealt with the following substantive items: (a) challenges to and opportunities for public administration in the context of the financial and economic crisis; (b) review of the United Nations Programme in Public Administration and Finance; and (c) public administration perspective on implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to gender equality and empowerment of women. Based on the discussion of the above-mentioned topics, the Committee recommended to the Council a draft resolution for its consideration and adoption.
