UNDESA/DPIDG and IDI will co-host a side event in the margins of the XXV INCOSAI. Drawing on insights from the World Public Sector Report 2025, the event will explore the evolving role of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in auditing national sustainable development priorities and advancing the SDGs.

The session aims to share key findings from the report and encourage their use by SAIs interested in SDG auditing. Topics will include climate change, leaving no one behind, public financial management, and SDG preparedness audits. Participants will reflect on emerging trends, SAIs’ positioning in SDG follow-up systems, and the competencies needed for effective independent assessments of sustainable development.
