Social Troop

“Tropa Social” is the social policy tool (app) that seeks to bring the social care programs of different care agencies of the Capital District closer to the homes of Bogotá with the aim of identifying, through characterization and social mapping exercises, the population in a vulnerable condition and Social fragility.
More than 1,500 troopers are knocking on the doors of families in evident poverty and hidden poverty in the 20 towns of the district with a very clear objective: to identify the social, health and economic alerts of these households to initiate the processes of redirection to services provided by the District.
Every time a home is visited, an identification of social emergency alerts is made, such as:
• Risk of domestic violence.
• Nutritional risk in children or pregnant mothers.
• Out-of-school childhood.
• Families with young people who neither study nor work (NINI).
• Unemployment.
• Health conditions that are not being treated.
• Home ownership at risk.
• People over 60 years of age without family support networks and without income.
• Families with people engaged in paid sexual activities.
• Women heads of household who perform care work without income.
Additionally, after the identification of alerts,Tropa Social can link the home to the District's social services. It can offer services of the Ministry of Health, linking to early childhood care programs, the population with disabilities and the elderly. Also activation of the RETO strategy for young people who neither study nor work (NEETs) and entrepreneurship and employability strategies prioritizing women.
The work of the Social Troop is framed in the Comprehensive Social Territorial Strategy, ETIS, which is the model to understand and manage the territory, and deliver social services to people, families and communities in the territories.
