Implementation of Open Laboratory Information Management System (ELIMS)

MOHW is in the process of implementing a Laboratory Information Management System, namely the OpenELIS Global software which has been made available by UNDP in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. Use of software:Recording of test cases and their results; Tracking of Laboratory tests & results; and Generation of reports. Software will also provide Management of the MOHW with precise information for: clinical decision-making and population-level public health decisions in response to the pandemic. The software will be hosted at the GOC which is the Government’s data Centre. In the context of implementation of the software at the GOC, care has been taken to abide by all security guidelines of both the GOC and the IT Security Unit of the MITCI. The software will be accessed by users at Laboratories, Hospitals and Quarantine Centres where COVID19 patients are being tested, treated or kept in self isolation. Access to the software will be over a secure network used by all other Mins/Dept
