The app is supported by the MinSundhed (MyHealth) smartphone app, which is linked to the Danish ID system. Every citizen has a unique ID number, known as a CPR, as well as a yellow health card with a barcode holding their ID information. When you take a test at a government facility, the card is scanned, and your sample is connected to it. Private providers scan your card or write down your CPR; you receive a text message with a link to the outcome. You open the app and gain access to your digital health records. When you enter a relevant establishment, you offer your phone, and staff checks its legitimacy against an ID.
