PorMiBarrio is a mobile and web-based platform that enables Montevideo’s citizens to report problems like vandalism and breakdown of public infrastructure. The problems reported, and the actions taken in response by the government (e.g. repaired, or not), are displayed on a map on the public website. Not only is the government able to act on local issues of shared concern, the publication of the feedback makes it possible for citizens to hold government institutions accountable.
