While these events are not part of the official UN General Assembly's twenty-year review process, they are included here as relevant for informational purposes. 2025GA High-level meetingThe 2015 outcome document of the high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of the WSIS (70/125) requested the General Assembly to hold a high-level meeting on the overall review of the implementation of the outcomes of the WSIS in 2025, involving the input and participation of all stakeholders, including in the preparatory process, to take stock of progress on the outcomes of the World Summit and identify both areas of continued focus and challenges.
7-11 Jul 2025Annual WSIS Forum hosted by ITU and co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD This year's WSIS forum will take place from 7 to 11 July 2025 at Palepxo in Geneva, Switzerland, hosted by ITU and co-organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD. 
23-27 Jun 2025Internet Governance Forum 2025The 20th Annual Meeting of the IGF will be hosted by the Government of Norway in Lillestrøm from 23 to 27 June 2025. 4-5 Jun 2025UNESCO - 2025 Global Forum on AI and Digital Transformation in the Public SectorOrganized within the framework of the 20-year review of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), the UNESCO Global Forum on AI and Digital Transformation in the Public Sector will address the critical need for capacity building among the public sector to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies effectively for sustainable, inclusive, and human rights-based governance, by bringing together senior policymakers, industry leaders, academia, and civil society.
7-11 Apr 2025UNCTAD - CSTD 28th SessionAs requested by the Economic and Social Council in its  resolution 2023/3 of 7 June 2023, the Commission on Science and Technology for Development will submit after its twenty-eighth session, in April 2025, a report based on inputs from Member States, all facilitators and other stakeholders on the review of progress made in the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society during the past 20 years, through the Economic and Social Council, to the General Assembly.
